Manual Handling

Carried out at our in house facility in Castlebar Co.Mayo on our own equipment by our fully qualified trainers and staff. We can also come to your work place to carry out this type of training.

Manual Handling or some form of lifting is involved in most jobs. In some jobs this is not a problem. It can be a potential workplace hazard when an employee is required to handle heavy loads, which could result in a back injury.

Regulation 69(a) of the 2007 Regulations states that, in order to avoid the need for manual handling of loads by employees, every employer must (a) take appropriate organisational measures, or (b) use the appropriate means, in particular mechanical equipment.

According to the regulations, staff engaged in Manual Handling must be given training in safe manual handling techniques.
